About drug-resistant epilepsy
30% of patients with epilepsy do not respond properly to drugs. This amounts to about 20M people in the world. Some patients need an invasive pre-surgery evaluation using iEEG recordings to localize the seizure onset zone. This requires the implantation of depth electrodes or grids which allows the recording of iEEG.
The iEEG contains markers of the epileptogenic zone, such as epileptic spikes, high-frequency oscillations or activities related to seizures.
At Avrio MedTech, we transform information buried in iEEG data into actionable insight. We considerably reduce the hassle of reading iEEG, provide immediate quantitative information even in the absence of a seizure, allowing for shorter patient stays, more comfort and access to innovative therapies.
