Some patients need an invasive pre-surgery evaluation using intracranial EEG recordings to localize the seizure onset zone. This requires the implantation of depth-electrodes or grids which allow recording the intracranial EEG (iEEG). The iEEG contains markers of the seizure onset zone, such as epileptic spikes, high frequency oscillations or activities related to the seizures
